The J W Ruger Co. has very early origins in Buffalo, NY. Only two vertical
and one horizontal engine from this builder are known of. All three are
unique. This is a 4 cycle, hit and miss with Otto style governing cutting off
the fuel supply while continuing to cycle on compression with electric and
hot tube ignition. This engine retains almost all of it's original finish. It's
original application was powering a line shaft in a machine shop in Buffalo, NY.
